Second Stage is committed to providing a safe and comfortable experience for all of its patrons. All three of our theaters are wheelchair accessible.
LIMITED MOBILITY
THE TONY KISER THEATER
The entrance to the Tony Kiser Theater is located on street level at 305 W 43rd Street (between 8th and 9th Avenue). An elevator in the box office lobby provides access to all levels of the theater, including the Fassst Café and the restrooms. Removable seats are available in the first and last rows (Rows A and O) to accommodate patrons in wheelchairs. Patrons requiring accessible seating are encouraged to contact the box office for additional assistance when purchasing their tickets.
THE HAYES THEATER
The Hayes is accessible, with an elevator reaching from the lower level café to the mezzanine. The orchestra has a ramp aisle, while the mezzanine utilizes stairs. The Hayes box office also has an accessible window.
HEARING IMPAIRED
ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES
The Tony Kiser Theater is fully equipped with Infrared Assisted Listening Devices. Devices can be obtained at the Fassst Café counter upon request. Patrons must provide a form of identification to receive a device. At the end of the performance, the ID will be returned once the device is brought back to the café. For optimal performance, please turn off your hearing aid when using Infrared headsets. The Hayes Theater will have access to the Loop Assistive Listening System - a wireless technology that transmits speech or music on stage directly to theatergoers' cochlear implants and hearing aids with T-coils.
OPEN CAPTIONING
Open Captioning is provided for one performance during each of the productions playing at The Hayes Theater and The Tony Kiser Theater. During an Open Caption performance, text will be displayed at the side of the stage with dialogue from the production and sound effects from the stage in real time. Please call the box office to inquire about Open Caption performances. Open Captioning is being provided, in part, by a grant from Theater Development Fund’s TAP Plus program in partnership with the NY State Council on the Arts.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED
AUDIO DESCRIPTION
Audio Description is provided for one performance during each of the productions playing at the The Hayes Theater and The Tony Kiser Theater. During an Audio Described performance, visually impaired patrons are provided commentary and narration which guides the listener through the show with descriptions of scenes, settings, costumes, etc. in between dialogue or songs. This service is made possible by the generous support of The Bulova Stetson Fund.
